
Tunnel Greenhouses
Tunnel greenhouses are semi-circular or arched structures, usually made from galvanized metal pipes and covered with polyethylene plastic. They are simple, lightweight, and quick to construct, making them ideal for vegetables, seasonal flowers, seedlings, and low-cost cultivation.
Main Components:
- Metal frame: Galvanized bent pipes forming arches (span between 6 to 10 meters).
- Covering: UV-stabilized polyethylene film, 180–220 microns thick.
Doors and windows: For ventilation and access. - Ventilation system: Usually natural ventilation via side and roof windows.
- Foundation: Often installed on bare soil or simple concrete bases.
